WHY AND HOW TO JOIN THE CENTER MEMBERSHIP:

BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP

The Center for NanoCellulosics will interact with industry in several ways to promote membership, which has the following benefits:

    • Collaborative research: Industry can work directly with one or more PSU faculty to conduct research related to their product or process development needs.

    • Technology Transfer: IP (patents or IP not publicly disclosed) resulting from academic programs (such as federally funded grants), which may not have previously included industrial involvement, will be marketed to members.  This will be done one-on-one and through center newsletters and publications.

    • Participation in center sponsored activities: The proposed center will engage in company visits and organize an annual symposium which will involve industry. Members and PA economic development organizations will be highlighted in national events including the 2007 International Conference for Nanotechnology in the Forest Products Industry (ICNFPI 2007) and the 2007 Annual Conference for the Institute for Biological Engineering (IBE 2007)

    • Receive information from center: The center will prepare an annual newsletter which will describe its activities, upcoming events, research, education activities including student highlights, and IP available for technology transfer.

    • National level activities: PA industry will be showcased in national level activities with the object of creating additional business or technology development opportunities nationally.
